St. Peter's Church, Heysham Village: There has been a church on this site since the 7th or 8th century. The present west doorway (note the different heights from the inside and outside) is Anglo-Saxon and the chancel with its lovely east and south windows is early 14th century.

Heysham Head House: Now a private house, this was once the entrance to a popular entertainment centre, featuring a zoo, go-carting track, concerts, amusements, dancing and a sandy beach. Thousands of visitors a day visited the centre and ten thousand spectators would arrive for the Carting World Cup. A young Nigel Mansell began his racing career here.

A ship leaving Heysham Harbour: The harbour, developed by the Midland Railway Co. wanting to expand their maritime interests, opened in 1904. The railway line which ran to the port was electrified in 1908 and the port is claimed to be the first in the country to be run by electricity. The lines are no longer electric and railway ownership ceased in 1984.
