Much research goes into the making of each walk as I aim to achieve the best combination of wonderful scenery and points of interest. I love stumbling across an amazing viewpoint or something new and exciting and hope you do too!

These amazing, low to mid-level circular walks around Cumbria should be suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness.
Ambleside and Grasmere Area
Ambleside Walk: 5.25 or 6.5 miles (fairly strenuous): Loughrigg Fell, Lily Tarn and superb Lakeland views.
Elterwater Walk: 3.75 miles (easy) to 6 miles (moderate): Lake, tarn, an amazing quarry and two waterfalls.
Grasmere Walk: 5 miles (moderate) The dramatic Sourmilk Gill and Easedale Tarn.
Rydal Walk: 3 miles (easy) or 7.75 miles (fairly strenuous): Alcock Tarn and two lakes. Great views.
Waterhead Walk: 5 to 6.5 miles (strenuous): Stockghyll Force, Wansfell, Troutbeck and Jenkin Crag.
Arnside Area
Arnside Walk: 5.5 miles (moderate): A lovely coastal ramble with a return over Arnside Knott. Great views.
Beetham Walk: 4.5 miles (easy) The magical Fairy Steps, a corn mill, the Kent Estuary and a deer park.

Barrow and Cartmel Peninsulas
Ulverston Walk: 6.5 miles (moderate) or 3.5 miles (easy): The lighthouse on the hill, coast and canal.
Kendal Area Photos
Brigsteer Walk: 2.75 miles (easy) 7 miles (moderate): Sizergh Castle, ancient woodland and Scout Scar.
Burneside Walk: 4.5 miles (easy): Discover the industrial heritage of the River Kent and Potter Tarn.
Burton in Kendal Walk: 3 or 7.5 miles (moderate): Dramatic limestone and superb views on Farleton Fell.
Kendal Walk: 2 or 5.5 miles (easy): Two castles, woodland, open countryside and fine views.
Levens Walk: 5 miles (easy) or 6.5 miles (moderate): Levens Park, gunpowder works and a disused canal.
Keswick Area
Bassenthwaite Walk: 6.5 miles (moderate): Dodd Wood and the legendary lakeside church of St. Bega's.
Grange in Borrowdale Walk: 6.75 miles (fairly strenuous): Bowder Stone, watendlath Tarn and Lodore Falls.
Hawes End Walk: 4 miles (either moderate or strenuous): Cat Bells, Manesty Park and Derwent Water.
Keswick Walk: 6.25 miles ( fairly strenuous): Derwent Water, Friar's Crag, Ashness Bridge and Walla Crag.
Threlkeld Walk: 3.5 miles (easy) or 7 miles (moderate): Tewet Tarn, stone circle and the Railway Footpath.
Kirkby Lonsdale Area
Barbon Walk: 3.5 miles (easy) or 8.5 miles (moderate): Rural tranquilty around Beckfoot and Barbondale.
Casterton Walk: 3 miles (easy) or 10 mls (fairly strenuous): Goldsworthy sheepfolds and Easegill limestone.
Hutton Roof Walk: 5.5 or 6.75 miles ( moderate): Ancient remains, limestone pavements and great views.
Kirkby Lonsdale Walk: 1.25 miles or 6.25 miles (fairly easy): Medieval bridge, Ruskin's View and the Lune.
Penrith and Ullswater Area
Glenridding Walk: 5.5 miles (moderate): Greenside Mine, Keldas, Lanty's Tarn and Ullswater.
Kirkoswald Walk: 8.5 miles (moderate): A castle, Lacy's Caves, Long Meg Stone Circle and a watermill.
Penrith Walk: 4.5 miles (easy) or 6.75 miles (moderate): Castles, Mayburgh Henge and a Giant's Grave.
Pooley Bridge Walk: 4.5 miles (easy) or 6.5 miles (moderate): Many prehistoric remains and fine views.
Shap Walk: 5.5 miles (fairly easy): Shap Abbey, the Googleby Stone and Keld Chapel.
Sedbergh and Dentdale
Brigflatts or Howgill Walk: 5.25 miles or 7.5 miles (fairly easy): A Quaker trail to Fox's Pulpit. Fine views.
Cautley Walk: 4.25 miles (easy) or 6.25 miles (moderate): Cautley Spout and prehistoric remains.
Cowgill Walk: 6 or 6.5 miles ( fairly strenuous): Dent Station, Pike's Edge and Arten Gill Viaduct.
Dent Walk: 6 miles (moderate): The historic Flintergill, old drove roads and riverside return.
Sedbergh Walk: 4.75 miles (fairly strenuous): Castlehaw, Crook and Winder Fells. Great views.
Windermere Area
Bowness Walk: 1.75 miles (easy) or 7.75 miles ( moderate): A short ferry trip to beatrix Potter countryside.
Kentmere Walk: 5.75 miles (moderate) 7 miles (fairly strenuous): Scenic vale, the Ull Stone and reservoir.
Staveley Walk: 5.5 miles (moderate) or 6.5 mls. (fairly strenuous): Lovely woodland, two tarns and the Kent.
Troutbeck Walk: 5.25 or 7.5 miles (moderate): Historical ramble to the wild open spaces behind the Tongue.
Windermere Walk: 2.5 or 5.5 miles (moderate): Orrest Head viewpoint, woodland paths and the lakeside.
